The Bremen Rotary Club welcomed Robert Hall to a regularly scheduled Rotary meeting to encourage Rotarians to attend the RI Convention – perhaps a once in a lifetime event in Atlanta.  The Bremen Rotary Club has a member, Mr. Gene Cook, who had led the club in perfect attendance for nearly 55 years.  Gene and his “Rotary Ann”, Jean Cook, were both regulars at nearly every district conference for 55 years and used to welcome each district governor to their home where they served dinner to the entire Rotary board, the AG and the District Governor.  Being in the clothing business for many years, Gene made sure that each DG received a tie and either a jacket or suit from “The Clothing Center of the South” aka Bremen, Georgia.  He wanted to make sure that each DG was “tied” to the Bremen Rotary Club.  Gene has had some health issues lately and has not been able to attend meetings for nearly a year.  Once it became apparent that Bremen Rotary would not see Gene Cook, it was decided that Rotarians would take them a meal after every Rotary meeting.  When Robert heard that Bremen Rotary needed a speaker, he knew it was time to make a visit to the Club and then afterward, the Cooks.  So Robert ended up on the food committee for the day and helped bring in lunch plates for the Cooks and share some memories of Rotary past.  Pictured on the front row are Robert, Jean and Gene Cook.  Pictured on the back row are Lynn Clarke and Steve Sampler, both of the Rotary Club of Bremen.
